Matthew McCall, Artistic Director
Matthew McCall is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. He has participated in collegiate and professional choirs since 2006 and has traveled with the University of South Carolina Concert Choir on several international tours, singing with and accompanying the choir in many notable venues including Cologne Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral, and Luxembourg Cathedral. In 2018, Matthew’s conductor’s analysis of John Rutter’s Gloria was published in Sacred Choral Music Repertoire: Insights for Conductors (GIA Publications). Choirs under his direction have performed substantial works including John Rutter’s Requiem, Bob Chilcott’s Gloria, Ola Gjeilo’s Song of the Universal, Dark Night of the Soul, and Luminous Night of the Soul, as well as several cantatas by J. S. Bach. Matthew completed his undergraduate studies at Presbyterian College, earning a BA in Sacred Music and Organ Performance. In 2018, he completed a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting at the University of South Carolina School of Music. Outside of music, Matthew enjoys cooking, home brewing, and spending time with his family. Matthew and his wife, Micah live in Columbia with their two dogs, Johann and Romeo.
